2024 saw the introduction of women’s rugby league to the group 9 rugby league calendar for the first time ever.

an exciting time that led to the establishment of estella storm rugby league, and the inaugural women’s open tackle side.

the 2024 competition was 9 a side, and although it was non-competitve, it allowed these women the opporunity to play a sport that for many years now they had only been able to watch on tv or play a small number of games in a local representative jersey. a season that allowed these women to enjoy learning the sport and building friendships not only within their club, but within all of group 9, displaying what rugby league is really about.

we are a club that prides itself on being welcoming but competitive, and we are extremely lucky to have the support of our volunteers & sponsors to make this all possible, especially during a year of many firsts.

after an undefeated season, we look forward to taking the field in 11 a side for our first competitive season, and we hope you come along for the ride.
